In my Opinion

I am not a supporter of the It’s Time event held at Bloemfontein recently. I have a few reasons for that and my main reason is that I don’t believe that is was in the will of God.

Not in the will of God?  You probably think that I am nuts. Why would getting together to pray for a stop to violence and the saving of our country, etc be against the will of God?  Well, I will ask you when last did you read Revelations?

In Revelations, the things that are happening is predicted. Things will get worse, not better. There will be war and famine and lawlessness and the children of God will suffer.  We need to accept that there will be chaos and suffering.

So, do we just sit back and do nothing? Or should we help the process along?  No, we should pray for strength to endure. We should pray for vigilance so that we don’t become part of the chaos. We should pray for wisdom and mercy and that the chaos and suffering will not last long.

Above all, we should praise God and know that He is in control and that He will help His children though this.

Now, I might be wrong and the end of the world is still many years off. Maybe even hundreds of years. I don’t know. What I do know is that if I pray that lawlessness and violence should stop, then I am telling God that I do not acknowledge Revelations.
